Siân Burman is a full time landscape and seascape artist and her preferred medium is oil, but she also works in gouache, acrylic, and mixed media. Much of her art practice focuses on the use of colour and light within landscape painting, which is influenced by the unique coastal environment of south-west Victoria, Australia, where she has lived for over thirty years.
Originally from the UK, she grew up on the wild and beautiful coast of west Wales, so a love of the ocean and its rugged environs has never left her. It inspires her to paint what she sees, and to share these emotions and images with her audience, often focussing on radiance, colour and movement.
She paints mainly from her studio, using sketches and digital images to create new work. In addition to landscape and seascape subjects, Siân has an interest in figurative work, and particularly with life drawing.
She has had several exhibitions and has works in private collections in Australia, the UK and the USA, as well as work in local galleries.
Siân is happy to undertake commissions on request.
